Academic and Career Advisors play a critical role in helping students choose and enter a program that aligns with their long-range career goals, progress in their curriculum, and utilize both online tools and college supports that will enhance their success and help them complete their goals.

The individuals facilitate academic plan development, career advising, registration assistance and academic strategy cultivation with an assigned caseload of newly admitted students, students in their first semester of enrollment and continuing students. Academic and Career Advisors maintain thirty (30) hours of advising availability per week, participate in on-going training provided by the Center and assigned academic department(s), facilitate early interventions, and regularly use available technologies to ensure accurate and effective advising.

Academic Success Center Director

Oversees all daily operations of the Academic Success Centers (ASC) at all campus locations. Adjunct Professor – Expanded Duty Dental Assisting

Teaches Clinical/Lab sessions for Expanded Duty Dental Assisting (EDDA) and DAT 154 Dental Procedures. A working knowledge of medical equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, etc. is required & technical training in management of these devices is beneficial.

A passion for working w/ technology to deliver high quality simulation facilitation is essential, a team player working in partnership to ensure center goals are achieved.

Some medical knowledge is most certainly beneficial & a good understanding of simulation programming, computer literacy & AV support is desired.

Candidate must be prepared to undertake additional training in simulator maintenance.

This is an as needed position for Saturday Simulations.

Minimum & Additional Requirements
Associate's degree preferred in a health care field or related experience in maintenance, repair, & technical support of simulation equipment &/or medical device systems in a large healthcare delivery setting, or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Demonstrated superior interpersonal & communication skills,

Ability to work independently w/ minimal supervision.

Ability to work flexible hours.

Availability to work Saturdays is necessary.

Ability to lift, walk, climb, & move bulky equipment is necessary for this role.

Preferred Qualifications
A healthcare qualification is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of videotape recording & audio/visual equipment.

Previous experience in a simulation training center environment is strongly preferred.

Experience in maintenance & technical support of simulators.

A working knowledge of medical simulators & familiarity w/ comma I medical device systems strongly preferred.

Substitute Library Technical Assistant
Midlands Technical College
MTC is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time, Substitute Library Technical Assistant to work at our Airport, Beltline, and Northeast Libraries.

On-Call Library Specialists are scheduled on an as-needed basis to cover the library desk. They do not have a set schedule or guaranteed number of hours.

Under direct supervision, provides reference and circulation services to library users.

Answers directional and informational questions about the MTC Library, its services, and materials.

Monitors and troubleshoots student computing, printing, and computing tools.

Effectively directs students to library resources.

Maintains daily library operations to include opening and closing procedures, checking out and monitoring study rooms, clerical work, and maintaining physical library materials (shelving, shifting, and shelf reading).

Assists with basic technology repair and maintenance.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and experience in library, clerical, or customer service-related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree with two (2) years' experience in library work, or a high school diploma and four (4) years' experience in library, clerical, or customer, service-related field.
