Social Services Program Specialist III

This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in Planning, Advocacy, and Community Services (PAC) and Community Based Care (CBC) programs.

Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.

The incumbent will oversee the administration of the ADSD Communication Access Services (CAS) Program, including interpretation of regulations and laws; developing, reviewing, and revising policies as they relate to the program; preparation of reports for federal and State entities and division/department management; developing and monitoring the program budget; and filing the annual program budget to the Public Utilities Commission. The CAS program administers services for Nevadans who are deaf, hard of hearing, and speech impaired. The program includes Relay Services, Interpreter and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) Registry, CAS Interpreter and Mentorship Program, and the services under the Communication Access Service Centers grants.

This is contract position in support of the State of Nevada. The chosen candidate will be paid on a contract through a staffing agency. There are medical benefits and paid time off after 90 days.

Must be a nationally certified interpreter and be able to understand and adhere to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct as outlined by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
