Essential Functions: Position is an Early Childhood Teacher for deaf and hard of hearing students. Position provides learning experiences by utilizing school curriculum, IEP goals and objective, and other appropriate materials and activities. Duties include preparing lesson plans, reports, and keeping records of student behavior and attitude needed to provide an orderly productive environment; ascertain learning needs of students and to establish evaluation techniques for assessment of progress, as well as participate in extracurricular activities. Must have experience working with young deaf and hard of hearing children and their families.
Preferred Qualifications: Expressive and receptive sign language with fluency in American Sign Language. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in deaf education with the completion of four semesters of ASL is required; State of Oklahoma Teaching Certificate or qualifications to meet certification. Attainment of Advanced or above on the SLPI is required within two years of hire.
