THE ROLE
We are looking for a designer that is eager to deliver across the entire design process, but that has hands-on professional experience as an Interaction Designer.
You'll be working on a new website for Parliament within a new team that intends to make the UK Parliament a leader in digital democracy.
The new website will have user needs at its heart, be developed incrementally and in the open. The new website will create an information space that will increase engagement, drive understanding and support transactions with Parliament.
You’ll work with colleagues across the Digital Service and beyond and be part of a friendly and creative agile team who create excellent digital services for a modern Parliament.
Day to day you will be working closely within a multi-disciplined team to understand service problems and define the scope and requirements for a solution. Producing user flows, wireframes and prototypes. Requesting and driving user research/usability tests as needed. Gauging the usability of new and existing products and making constructive suggestions for change and optimisation.
You’ll also be creating detailed UI and visual design specifications for web and mobile. Iterating design prototypes & refining user experience. Creating pixel perfect designs. Developing visual identity systems, data visualisations, visual design, illustrations, etc.
