The section of Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery / Urogynecology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone, and the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary are actively recruiting for a Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgeon/Urgynecologist.

Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone services a population of ~1.34 million people. Calgary is a vibrant city, surrounded by natural beauty, with world-class ski resorts just a 90-minute drive away. The dramatic, and beautiful, Rocky Mountains provide the backdrop to the city’s stunning vistas.

The main facility of this position is the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary’s tertiary facility. The successful candidate will have access to operative time, as decided by the department with input from the PMRS section, clinical space as well as addition to the current section ROTA, providing additional call support to the generalist gynecology group.

Requirements:

Candidate must have FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynecology and candidates with Royal College. Must have completed a minimum of 2 years fellowship certificate with Urogynecology / Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

Candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta; must read, write and speak English.

Priority will be given to Canadian citizen/permanent resident, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
Division Director and Fellowship Director, Gynecologic Oncology

The SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting a Full-Time Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Division. This position will hold rank of an Associate Professor or Professor that is commensurate with qualifications and experience with Tenure eligibility.

The Division, which has offered gynecologic oncology services since 1953 seeks to find the most effective ways to prevent, detect and treat gynecologic malignancies and has tremendous opportunities for growth in research, patient care and education. The Division has a long history of providing care to Brooklyn women with pre-invasive and invasive disease in the female reproductive tract. The Gynecologic Oncology Division is a full member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group Foundation and pharmaceutical industry sponsored clinical trials, which provides unique treatment options to our patients and opportunities in advancing clinical outcomes in gynecological malignancies. The Division is actively participating in thirty (30) to thirty-five (35) NCI-sponsored Phase II and III cooperative group trials.

In 1967, the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program was established in the Division. It is one of the oldest and continuously accredited programs in the country. Additionally, the Gynecologic Oncology Division has an active robotic minimally invasive surgery program, which was established in February 2009. The Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program most recent accreditation was on February 10, 2021.

The Department is recruiting a Full-time Director for its Gynecology Division. This position will hold rank of a Clinical Assistant Professor. The Division has a long history of providing routine and preventative care to its patients. The Division provides a full range of gynecological services to its patients on an ambulatory and inpatient basis. The Ambulatory Care Services are devoted to addressing the needs and demands of its patients.
The Division provides a complete range of gynecological surgical procedures for the proper management of its patients with benign gynecological disorders. Additionally, the Division utilizes the traditional and the well- established surgical techniques in the management of its patients.
The Duties and Responsibilities:
• Accountable for the Division’s provision of gynecological services in the Ambulatory Care Service and on an inpatient basis as well as be actively involved with the Division’s academic and research activities.

• In collaboration with the Chair of the Department, manages the administrative, and clinical operations of the Division; which will also include ensuring the proper supervision and the training of the assigned Residents and medical students.

• Additionally, in collaboration with the Chair of the Department, develop a comprehensive strategy and plan for growth of gynecological surgical procedures as well as for the development of the division’s clinical, educational and research activities.

• Function collaboratively with the Chair of the Department and other relevant departments to strengthen and expand all elements of gynecological care and services.

• Accountable for the recruitment, retention and the development of the Gynecology Division.
