Faculty Position Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery

The Obstetrics & Gynecology Department at Washington University is top-ranked with extensive clinical and basic science research. With advanced training in the full range of general obstetric and gynecologic conditions, our faculty offers a superior level of expertise, delivering innovative treatments and personalized care plans to our patients.
The selected applicant will join an academic practice of three faculty and one fellow. Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery faculty are engaged in in-patient care, clinical research, and medical student, resident, and fellow education. We are in the foundation year of our Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship program.
Clinical responsibilities include care for gynecology patients in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Currently, the division performs over 1,000 procedures per year. In 2018, a brand new state-of-the-art operating facility opened in coordination with the new academic and clinical office space. Surgeries are performed at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a level I trauma center and academic teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds, and Missouri Baptist Medical Center, a 489-bed community-based hospital, both are Magnet-designated hospitals and members of the BJC HealthCare system.
Qualified candidates will be at the Assistant Professor level or above in the clinician-educator track and have a track record of outstanding patient care, collaborative leadership, program growth/development, educational excellence, and faculty recruitment. A background in individual scholarship is preferred, but not required.

As a member of our MIGS surgical practice, you will be part of a fully supported team comprised currently of three surgeons, a MIGS fellow, an advanced GYN physician-assistant, and experienced nursing and office staff.
The successful candidate should excel at minimally invasive GYN procedures including laparoscopy, robotic surgery, and hysteroscopy, including office-based procedures. As part of the faculty, you will have educational opportunities including training of fellows, residents, and medical students. Research opportunities include intramural work as well as participation in industry-sponsored investigation.
Candidates interested in pursuing an academic leadership position are preferred!
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provide gynecological-only medical and surgical services, with MIGS Division gynecologic on-call responsibilities. *No obstetrical duty requirements*
Precept fellows, residents, students, and specified health care professionals, as appropriate, and contribute to the educational program for trainees in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Participate in MIGS-focused research endeavors.
