Post Doctoral Research Fellowship at BWH and Harvard Medical School
Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School
Seeking an enthusiastic and qualified individual (PhD, MD, DVM) that is interested in working with us on using systems immunology approaches like CyTOF, RNAseq, proteomics, and epigenetic to address basic questions about how trauma, radiation, cancer, and infection modulates or alters immune system phenotypes. Projects in the lab address fundamental questions on how injury activates and controls immune function. We are developing TLR9 agonists as immunotherapy for poor immune function following trauma, radiation, sepsis, and cancer. These projects address trained immunity mechanisms, anti-microbial immunity, and mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) biology. Our lab uses computational approaches so individuals with computational skills and also with interest in training in basic immunology research methods are encouraged to apply.

If you are interested, feel free to text me or say hi at the SLB meeting to learn more.

Postdoctoral Associate/Research Scientist
NEW YORK UNIVERSITY
Applications are invited for a full time Postdoctoral Associate (Research Scientist) position in a well-funded laboratory at the New York University's College of Dentistry. The laboratory is highly focused on studying succinate signaling in health and disease. The related work has been published in Nature Communications and Cell Reports. Studies from the group suggested a central role of succinate signaling via its receptor as well as an intermediate metabolite in the interplay among microbiota, metabolism and host immune response in oral cavity, gut, bone marrow and brain in pathological conditions such as aging and diabetes. The laboratory utilizes approaches involving cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, histology in conjunction with transgenic and surgical interventions in mice. In this position, the incumbent will to study the role of succinate signaling in host and microbiome interactions.

We are seeking creative, productive and highly motivated individuals who want to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, and diverse research environment and gain experiences in developing independent research projects. The Department has a strong Postdoctoral development program which facilitates the trainees advancement toward success.
Postdoctoral Position : Immune Regulation
University of California-Irvine
Department of Physiology and Biophysics in the School of Medicine, University of California, Irvine (UCI), seeks candidates at the postdoctoral level for exciting and fully funded projects in Immune Regulation.

Description: The project's primary goals are to define how regulatory T (Treg) cells selectively fine-tune CNS autoimmunity and study the role of mechanical signals in T cell functions. In the coming years, we envision identifying the fundamental basis of how Tregs protect our central nervous system during autoimmune diseases and promote remyelination. Studies will include animal models of neuroinflammation and orthotropic tumors in fate-mapped reporter mice to uncover new insights into immune regulation. We use various technologies, including confocal and 2-photon microscopy, cell culture, molecular biology, flow cytometry, and live calcium imaging using our latest genetically encoded calcium probe, Salsa6f.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Immunology or Biological sciences. Candidates should have a record of completed graduate research that can be directly applied to the field of Immunology. Prior experience in Cell and Molecular Biology, Microscopy, and Calcium signaling is highly desirable. The successful candidate must have a strong publication record and have a broad range of skills, including maintaining effective interactions and collaborations with other members of the lab and scientific community. Keeping the laboratory notebook, recording acquired data, and following written, and verbal directions are essential. Research independence, including writing manuscripts and research projects, is highly desirable.
