Queen's University
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join the Queen’s Neuroeconomics Lab (https://anitatusche.com/). We study decision-making in various domains (e.g., altruism, dietary be... havior, and self-control failures) and social behavior (loneliness, social network characteristics, and social functioning). Tasks
Planning and implementation of research projects and analysis of multimodal data (neuronal, physiological, and behavioral data) using computational modeling (e.g., multivariate pattern analysis, drift diffusion models)
Presentation of research results (in scientific journals, colloquia, and conferences)

Requirements and Skills
- Excellent master’s and doctoral degree in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, computer science, behavioral economics, or an equivalent discipline
- High motivation and interest in interdisciplinary research
- Of advantage, but NOT necessary (will be dependent on the background and level of the applicant):
--      Knowledge of one or more neuroscientific methods (fMRI, TMS, tDCS, EEG, or NIRS) knowledge of eye-tracking
--       Programming experience (e.g., Matlab, Python)
Experience in advanced statistical analyses (e.g., machine learning)
--       Knowledge of behavioral modeling
--       Relevant research experience or interest in the field of decision neuroscience, social neuroscience, or neuroeconomics

Please send your application (a short statement of research interests, CV, and the names and contact information of at least two references) to Prof. Dr. Anita Tusche (anita.tusche@queensu.ca). Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions have been filled. For more information, email Dr. Tusche (anita.tusche@queensu.ca).

Postdoc in Computational Decision Neuroscience Lab at NIMH
National Institute of Mental Health
The CDN lab at the National Institute of Mental Health intramural research program is seeking a full time postdoctoral fellow. We study the neural and computational bases of adapt... ive and maladaptive decision making and metacognition. No prior experience with psychiatry research is needed but a familiarity with value-based learning and decision making, metacognition, belief updating, emotion regulation and or effort/cost estimation is desirable as these are universally important for understanding adaptive healthy functioning and psychiatric disease.

The fellow will 1) assist in the collection and analysis of fMRI data and or human electrophysiological intracranial recordings. 2) Conduct advanced analysis of behavioral, clinical, physiological, electrophysiological, and imaging data, including but not limited to, computational modeling and machine learning. 3) Integrate complex datasets across multiple modalities, including fMRI, electrophysiology, biosensor data neuroendocrinology, behavior, and self-report. 4) Prepare manuscripts and present results at scientific meetings. 5) Design novel experiments to examine the neurocomputational basis of decision-making and metacognition. 6) Co-mentor students and research coordinators.

Requirements: 1) A PhD in neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, engineering, or a related field. 2) Strong programming skills (ideally in Python, and/or MATLAB, R). 3) An ability to work well in multidisciplinary and highly collaborative teams. 4) A track record or potential for scholarly productivity. 5) Effective independent problem-solving and task prioritization.

UCLA Open-rank Faculty Position in Computational and Behavioral Neuroscience in Department of Psychology
UCLA
The UCLA Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Profes... sor specializing in computational neuroscience and the use of advanced mathematical methods and theoretical approaches to understand behavior and brain processes.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong track record of productive and impactful research relative to their career stage, with a substantive focus on multi-level modeling including synaptic, cellular, and/or network-level resolution of neuronal activity, behavior, and the relationship between the two. We are open to candidates who conduct in vivo or in vitro experiments to test aspects of their models, as well as those who conduct in silico (simulation) experiments to quantitatively describe principles and generate hypotheses regarding brain functions that then can be tested by experimentalists in vivo. In either case, applicants should demonstrate a strong track record of or potential for working with experimentalists to generate predictions about behavior and neural activity, separately and/or in combination, understanding psychological processes and their brain mechanisms, and iterative experimental testing of those predictions. Areas of emphasis are open, though we are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to fundamental behavioral neuroscience research in non-human animal models and synergize with our existing strengths in learning, memory, and/or decision making. The candidate should have a demonstrated interest in collaboration with researchers in behavioral neuroscience.

Assistant Professor of Affective Neuroscience in the UCLA Department of Psychology
UCLA
The UCLA Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in affective neuroscience. We are interested in applicants pu... rsuing innovative work on the neural basis of affective processes, such as emotion, motivation, and mood, in healthy human adults. We are interested in candidates whose work involves a variety of computational methods, which could include various computational methods for analyzing neuroimaging data (e.g., multivariate pattern analysis methods, such as pattern classification and representational similarity analysis), computational modeling of behavioral and/or neural responses, and computational approaches to characterizing language, stimuli, or participants’ responses to stimuli. The successful candidate would add to the Department’s existing strengths in social and affective neuroscience and would provide additional training opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students in advanced neuroimaging methods. Potential applicants who have questions about how their specialization aligns with the position can inquire to Prof. Carolyn Parkinson, search committee chair, at SearchCommittee@psych.ucla.edu.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong track record of or potential for productive and impactful research relative to their career stage, with a substantive focus on the neural basis of affective processes in healthy adults.

To ensure full consideration, the online application should be completed and submitted by October 27, 2024.

PhD Position in Decision Neuroscience at Erasmus University Rotterdam
Erasmus University Rotterdam
The Erasmus Center for Neuroeconomics seeks a highly motivated PhD student looking to study decision-making using neuroscience methods (fMRI or EEG). Strong applicants have backgr... ounds in (cognitive/social) psychology, (cognitive/social) neuroscience or neuroeconomics, and are looking to pursue careers as world-class academic researchers. At our Center, students define and execute their own projects in consultation with their advisers, and thus need creativity, selfdirection, and a passion for scientific research.

Researchers in our group work on a wide range of topics in social and cognitive neuroscience such as understanding the neurological basis of emotions and persuasive communication, social conformity, dishonesty, charitable giving and predicting population-level outcomes from neural data.

Some experience with EEG and/or fMRI data analysis is required for this position. Experience or interest in more advanced fMRI methods, such as multi-voxel pattern analysis (MVPA), representational similarity analysis (RSA), classification algorithms, prediction models, or multivariate approaches to EEG data analyses is a definite plus. Experience with, or at least affinity for programming, particularly in Python (or otherwise Matlab or R) is a must.

For more information about this position, please check contact Maarten Boksem (mboksem@rsm.nl), or Alex Genevsky (genevsky@rsm.nl). Or approach us during the conference.
