Baylor Scott & White Texas Spine & Joint Hospital Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine (DSM), Physicians, Athletic Director, and Head Athletic Trainer for local high school the Athletic Trainer... (AT) is responsible for the provision of athletic training services in support of the Baylor Scott & White Texas Spine & Joint Hospital Tyler (BSWTSJH) sports medicine outreach program. These functions include, but are not limited to: on campus during athletic periods and attendance at games/events to prevent, evaluate, and treat injuries and/or illnesses; documentation of injuries/illnesses; and documentation of work time and mileage. The AT will perform all other duties as assigned. The AT will project a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of patients, coworkers, and Baylor Scott & White Texas Spine & Joint Hospital Tyler as appropriate. The AT will work under stress and in situations that demand patience and tact while providing impeccable service. Qualifications, Knowledge and Ability: Demonstrated eligibility for employment in the United States Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer BLS must be current and maintained while employed Ability to relate and work effectively with others Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective use of chemicals, cleaning agents and safety instructions. Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own growth and advancements.
Salary will be based off of salary scale starting at $56,000 and up depending upon experience and degrees. Benefits include health, 401K, and CEU. Duties and Responsibilities: Attend athletic events and practices and assist the Head Athletic Trainer to provide an athletic training program for athletic team participants, including, but not limited to, prevention, care, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Oversee and help manage Athletic Training Student Program. Evaluate, refer and treat athletic injuries and maintain records of all injuries/related documentation. Attend athletic events and practices; supervise the operation of assigned training room/s and equipment. Help to develop/evaluate student trainers; establish emergency injury procedures followed by coaches or athletic trainers. Communicate with parents, physicians, other athletic trainers and coaches regarding injured athletes. Determine if/when an injured athlete can return to practice or re-enter games after injuries.
Salary: Per LVISD Salary Schedule, plus $10,000 stipend, plus 10 extra days
