Creative Expressive Arts Therapist

This position will join a dynamic team of creative arts therapists who value collaboration, integrity, and compassion for self and others. Cherry Hospital serves psychiatric patients in eastern North Carolina with the greatest amount of need and fewest resources. We provide group and individual music therapy services with adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Qualifications:

A. Education/Regulatory Requirements:
o Degree in Music Therapy from an AMTA accredited university.

o Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) required within one year.

B. Skills:
o A minimum of one to two years music therapy experience preferred.

o Experience working in hospice, geriatrics, or in a health care related field preferred.

o Competence with the technical components necessary to complete the job.

o Must possess the ability to drive, a reliable car, a good driving record, automobile insurance, a valid Florida Driver’s license and basic knowledge of the county territory.

Music Therapist and Early Childhood Education Program (Little Wing) - Woodstock/West Cobb

The SOR Instructor creates a safe and cool environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential.

Little Wing is School of Rock’s music program designed for our youngest students (mainly 3 to 5-year-olds). This music program for toddlers and preschoolers features a special curriculum where students play games and participate in other interactive activities to help them internalize the foundational skills they will use as their musical abilities grow. Little Wing students have one weekly group lesson in which they use mostly rock songs to learn about rhythm, song structure, melody, and dynamics through play.

Apply the tools and principles of Music Therapy within the established methodology and curriculum developed by SOR West Cobb Music Therapist Director
Conduct 1:1 lessons of SOR Music Therapy (30 or 60min)
Support pre-schoolers in their music journey, including many with special challenges that require extra attention to express themselves through music
Manage classes of 3-6 students (max) pre-schoolers per session
Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
Create and document thoughtful lesson plans

Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons
Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
Opportunity to run 1:1 lessons and other music programs if available

CBMT (MT-BC), LPMT degree is required for MT lessons, a plus for Early Childhood group program
Experience with children and childcare
