Postdoctoral Fellowship
Stanford University
Postdoctoral Fellowship: Seeking Psychologist/Behavioral Scientist For Impact-Driven Research

The Golub Capital Social Impact Lab offers a 2-year fellowship for a postdoctoral researcher interested in designing interventions that employ psychological mechanisms in large-scale field experiments using technology such as chatbot conversations. For this position, we are interested in candidates who are excited about investigating the emotional mechanisms that animate behavior — specifically, leveraging emotion regulation techniques to reduce the spread of misinformation (following on a recent lab study), and increase charitable giving.
The ideal candidate will have conducted behavioral/experimental research and have experience working with external partners on field experiments. Excellent candidates with other specialities or backgrounds related to the lab’s work will also be considered.
This position does not involve independent research outside the scope of the lab. Instead, you would work on collaborative projects related to the lab’s missions and partners.
About the Lab
Our lab conducts research aimed at improving the effectiveness of social impact organizations in the domains of education, charitable giving, health, government services, worker training, and financial health. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work alongside Prof. Susan Athey and other lab affiliates who each contribute a diverse variety of skills and expertise to solving social problems
