Supervisor, Publications Peer Review Support

We are looking for a results-oriented peer review professional to support the growth and development of IEEE’s editorial office program. The person in this position will act as a subject matter expert for IEEE's peer review systems (with a focus on ScholarOne Manuscripts) and IEEE publishing applications and tools, assuming responsibility for the efficient set-up and ongoing oversight of peer review and editorial processes across various platforms.

You will oversee performance management and will supervise a suite of training for at least 7 individuals on a growing team, including team members who are office-based, home-workers, freelancers and internationally outsourced. In this role, you will work with the Associate Director of the Peer Review Services team on resource allocation and prioritization to accommodate competing demands. As such, this position would suit someone with experience monitoring team progress and performance as well as building effective working relationships within a journal publishing environment.

In addition to supervisory responsibilities and experience managing distributed teams, this person in this role should be highly customer-service focused and will be responsible for providing direct support for volunteers and staff who use IEEE’s peer review services across an assigned portfolio of journals. You should be able to interpret information from peer review vendors and offer insightful and strategic solutions for IEEE customers who are looking to streamline and optimize their peer review operations. The incumbent will be expected to work closely with Editors-in-Chief on a daily basis and will play an important role in ensuring timely, quality-driven publication of submitted manuscripts. Ability to multi-task and track multiple deadlines across a variety of journal schedules is a must.
