Teaching & Learning Department Head

The Teaching and Learning, Department Head, a non-tenure track Instructor position, leads the Auraria Library’s efforts in planning, implementing, and managing information literacy instruction, outreach, and research services. This position provides leadership for all issues related to the library’s educational role such as student learning, online education, first-year and transfer, curriculum planning, student learning assessment, and instructor development as well as areas related to the library’s research support role such as scholarly communication, data literacy and support, citation management, research consultations, and campus research recognition and promotion. In response to strategic campus shifts toward hybrid modalities and a new emphasis on research, the Department Head will build an understanding of the library’s role and a framework for advancing the teaching and research missions across campus.
Journals Development Editor

The Journal Development Editor (JDE) is responsible for the continued growth and detailed editorial strategy for journals in the assigned portfolio. The JDE works directly with the Editors in Chief to define short and long-term strategic goals for each title and oversees their execution and assessment. The JDE is ultimately responsible for ensuring that their assigned journals grow strategically and meet the needs of their respective communities. The JDE, in collaboration with marketing and communication colleagues, develops, and contributes to specific portfolio strategies to broaden visibility for authors, their portfolio and the journal program. Digital Publishing Specialist

Reporting to the Head of Scholarly Communication and Publishing, the Digital Publishing Specialist will manage editorial and production workflows including those related to publication metadata, digital archiving, and document transformation. The role of the Production Editor is to direct accepted manuscripts through the production process to final publication, completing quality assurance tasks at each step and ensuring that production schedules are met. The position also handles various journal website administration tasks.

Essential Functions (defines the critical end results expected of the jobholder related to the accountabilities above)

Community Engagement Manager, arXiv
arXiv is looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our leadership team as our next Community Engagement Manager. The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for defining and implementing arXiv’s communication strategy and managing and expanding our membership and sponsorship programs.

The ideal candidate will have:

· 0-1 year experience (technical publications experience preferred)
· Strong research and conceptual thinking skills

· Ability to learn Shells and Command Line Interface, Web Application Program Interfaces, JSON, Taxonomies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Logic Apps
· Strong writing, problem solving, and proofreading skills  
· Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Excel  
· Knowledge of HTML, XML, XQuery, and a scripting language (Python, Ruby, etc.) is a plus. The willingness to learn several of these programs is a requirement.
