Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidates will teach assigned undergraduate courses within the B.S. in Health Sciences curriculum (https://www.healthsci.jmu.edu/). Faculty should be prepared to teach multiple courses in areas contributing to our engaging curriculum, such as human disease, global health, research methods and program planning, implementation and evaluation. Some degree of previous university teaching experience is preferred.
Qualifications: Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree (earned by the start date) in public health, health sciences, health education and promotion, or related field. Applicants holding a CHES and/or CPH credential may be given preference.
Candidates must possess a commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service. Potential for all three areas should be evident. Candidates must also demonstrate an appreciation for the preparation of undergraduate students for graduate education or professional programs (e.g., public health, physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, medicine). We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a diverse scholarly environment.
