Assistant Professor of Health Sciences (6 positions)
James Madison University
We invite applications for multiple tenure track faculty hires seeking a fulfilling and engaging academic career, beginning Fall 2022. The 10-month tenure-track instructional faculty positions will be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will teach assigned undergraduate courses within the B.S. in Health Sciences curriculum (https://www.healthsci.jmu.edu/). Faculty should be prepared to teach multiple courses in areas contributing to our engaging curriculum, such as human disease, global health, research methods and program planning, implementation and evaluation. Some degree of previous university teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree (earned by the start date) in public health, health sciences, health education and promotion, or related field. Applicants holding a CHES and/or CPH credential may be given preference.

Candidates must possess a commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service. Potential for all three areas should be evident. Candidates must also demonstrate an appreciation for the preparation of undergraduate students for graduate education or professional programs (e.g., public health, physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, medicine). We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a diverse scholarly environment.

Conditions of Employment:
Per the Governor’s Executive Directive #18, new JMU employees upon hire must disclose to the University Health Center their COVID-19 vaccination status. Unvaccinated employees are required to be tested weekly.

The Department of Psychology at Maryville College, a selective four-year liberal arts college committed to superior teaching, invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time position in Counseling Psychology. The appointment is at the rank of assistant professor, beginning in August 2022. Qualified candidates will have a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting and prior successful college-level teaching experience. A Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field is required, and the successful candidate will have practical/applied counseling experience. Interest in program development is a plus. Teaching responsibilities include a combination of courses in counseling, personality, and introductory psychology.
