The fellowship is designed to provide a comprehensive educational experience that includes exposure to the latest imaging technologies and techniques, as well as opportunities for research and scholarly activities.
We have been at the forefront of developing and implementing artificial intelligence (AI) tools for imaging analysis, with 10 active AI tools utilized for patient care on a day to day basis. We have collaborations with industry leaders in the development of these tools and have published extensively on the use of AI in medical imaging.
Our institution is a premier academic medical center located in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio. We have a long-standing tradition of excellence in patient care, education, and research. University Hospitals performs more than 1.5 million exams per year, with 100 radiologists. We are an active teaching program with 40 residents and 9 fellows.
The Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship program is supported by the Department of Radiology at UH Cleveland Medical Center, which has a robust research program that includes both basic and clinical research. The department is committed to providing a supportive and collaborative environment for our fellows, and we encourage them to actively participate in our ongoing research projects.
We have two available spots for 2025-2026. Applicants must have completed an accredited residency program in diagnostic radiology and be board-certified or board-eligible. Applicants must be eligible for a medical license in Ohio and be able to obtain appropriate hospital credentialing. An alternate pathway to ABR certification is also supported on a case-to-case basis.

Due to significant growth in volume and an expanding clinical practice, the Department of Radiology at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine is recruiting additional faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor Level. The Department is seeking to recruit additional cardiothoracic radiologist for both our tertiary hospitals and outpatient networks.
The Cardiothoracic division has specialty expertise in lung cancer including lung cancer screening, occupational diseases, interstitial lung diseases, coronary artery disease, structural heart disease and cardiomyopathies.
The Cardiothoracic division hosts several multidisciplinary clinical conferences and tumor boards. Many faculty have leadership positions in both local and national professional societies and hold positions within the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, including Associate Dean of Admissions, Promotions Committee members, and Anatomy and structured lab facilitators. The facilities are outstanding with up to date imaging equipment. There is a dedicated Cancer Center with advanced imaging techniques and weekly multidisciplinary tumor board conferences.
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Radiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology and have completed the appropriate fellowship training. Responsibilities will include inpatient and outpatient clinical care and active involvement in teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. We work closely with thoracic and cardiac surgery, lung transplant surgery, pediatric congenital heart surgery, cardiology, pulmonology, and infectious disease to deliver high level multidisciplinary care. The ideal candidate holds an MD or DO degree, is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and has expertise in Chest and Cardiac imaging, including Cardiac CT. While dedicated fellowship training in Cardiothoracic imaging is preferred, mid-career candidates with specialized Cardiac CT experience will also be considered. Background/Responsibilities: • The Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging comprises 13 faculty members, 1-2 Cardiothoracic imaging fellows, offering a comprehensive range of Cardiothoracic imaging services at seven outpatient and three hospital-based sites. The group is highly collaborative, engaged and cohesive. • Exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves routine patient and referrer communication, particularly in multidisciplinary tumor boards. • Eagerness and desire to teach, mentor and supervise radiology residents, fellows and medical students. •. This hybrid position includes a mix of on-site and remote work (home workstation provided). On-site hospital duties to be performed at the Upper East Side flagship campus and possibly Lower Manhattan Hospital and Brooklyn Methodist Hospitals depending on applicant preference/need. • 100% remote position is also possible for seasoned Cardiothoracic radiologists. • While experience in all Chest modalities (including XR, CT, MRI and PET/CT) is desired, a Cardiac CT skillset is essential. • Opportunities for weeknight and weekend moonlighting within Cardiothoracic imaging and the emergency radiology division, including paid call. • No interventional procedures are performed by our group.
