Campus Organizer
Student Public Interest Research Groups
Students are often at the forefront of movements to build a better future for our country. Whether or not those students make real progress depends on whether they are organized, have the skills to be effective and have a strategic plan to get things done. The Student PIRGs have been working for more than 40 years to amplify the power of student activism, and help students make real change, right now. We all want to live meaningful lives and have a future that's greener and healthier. By recruiting, training and working alongside student activists on campaigns that get results, our organizers are helping to build that future today. Our chapters on 35 campuses provide the training, professional support and resources students need to tackle climate change, protect public health, revitalize our democracy, feed the hungry and more.

Our organizers provide students the training and resources they need to become movement leaders by recruiting volunteers, training potential leaders to take on more responsibility, and doing campaign work themselves.

Energy Justice Network
Help us shut down waste incinerators!
PennEnvironment Conservation Associate
About the job

PennEnvironment is looking for a skilled and savvy organizer to build grassroots support for our conservation campaigns to preserve Pennsylvania’s incredible natural heritage. This includes PennEnvironment’s campaigns to protect our parks, forests, and public lands, and our efforts to tackle single-use plastic waste and move towards a Zero Waste society.

PennEnvironment is a statewide, citizen based non-profit environmental advocacy organization. We believe there’s something special about Pennsylvania—something worth protecting and preserving for future generations. Yet the places we love and the environmental values so many of us share are too often threatened by powerful polluters, short-sighted politicians and more. Defending our environment requires independent research, tough-minded advocacy and spirited grassroots action.

The Conservation Associate will help defend our cornerstone conservation programs from attack at the federal and state level; work to promote and increase stewardship of our public lands and open spaces; and tackle the threat that single use plastics like bags, straws and Styrofoam are having on our communities, our waterways and our wildlife.
