FACULTY POSITION IN DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING
University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine
The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences of the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track or clinical-track faculty position in veterinary diagnostic imaging. The position is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Requirements include a DVM/VMD or equivalent degree, completion of a formal residency training program in radiology/diagnostic imaging, and certification or eligibility for certification by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI).
Responsibilities include clinical and didactic teaching of veterinary students, interns, and residents; clinical service in diagnostic imaging; development of a basic science or clinical research program commensurate with effort allocation; participation in committee duties at the departmental, college or university level; and participation in continuing education at the local and national level.
Imaging equipment includes one large animal and two small animal radiology rooms equipped with digital radiography; digital fluoroscopy; portable radiology units for the large animal field service; two ultrasound units; a 40-slice CT scanner and a 1.5T large bore MRI scanner (both equipped with small and large animal tables); and a nuclear medicine suite with two gamma cameras. An interventional suite equipped with digital fluoroscopy is on-site. All imaging modalities are interfaced with a PACS system.
