Opening: Full Time Occupational Therapist for Bristol, South Bristol, and Nobleboro Schools
JOB GOAL/PRIMARY PURPOSE: To enable children with disabilities to access their education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluate fine motor, visual perceptual, functional and sensory motor skills as they relate to the educational setting.
Plan and implement therapy programs for children with a variety of developmental, fine motor, functional, muscle skeletal, and sensory motor impairments.
Collaborate with teachers, parents and staff.
Maintain appropriate licensing as an Occupational Therapist
Attend regularly scheduled meetings with colleagues.
Prepare written reports, maintain progress reports, rate goals, and attend and participate in IEP team meetings.
Maintains records/files documenting referral, assessment, recommendations, and therapy notes.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Services or Building Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in occupational therapy from a college with an accredited occupational therapy program.
National certification (NCBOT).
State of Maine Licensure.
Hold a valid State of Maine Criminal History Records Check Approval.
Public School experience preferred.
Knowledge of developmental, orthopedic, and neurological disorders.
Knowledge of sensory-based theories, tools, and strategies.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Experience with administration and scoring of standardized tests.

This position is responsible for teaching students with emotional and behavioral needs in a team environment. Students are in both regular education and special education classrooms for parts of their day. Educational technicians are a critical part of this team and support students in all settings as needed.

The successful candidate will be able to:

Create and implement IEPs
Execute positive behavior support plans
Collect behavioral and academic data
Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
Supervise educational technicians
Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and adapt curriculum
Provide specially designed instruction to students in the core curriculum when needed
Participate in Safety Care Training

Occupational Therapist - K-5 SPPS
Woodfords Family Services
The Early Interventions and SPPS Programs at Woodfords Family Services are designed to provide educational and behavioral supports to children (PreK-5th grade) with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a specialized therapeutic environment.

The Occupational Therapist will work in collaboration with the clinical team to support the program in delivering treatment-based interventions and services. Essential duties and responsibilities of the O.T. include:

Attend evaluations, IEP's, ITP's and other team meetings as directed.
Provide occupational therapy assessments, to include scoring and narrative reports.
Provide training/consultation to other programs/agencies in coordination with the Program Director.
Provide a safe environment, including but not limited to, the preparation of the therapy room.
In collaboration with Program Coordinator, Clinical staff, and classroom lead teachers, develop and maintain schedule and classroom curriculum to support development in identified areas.
Provide individual and group occupational therapy, as indicated on the child's IEP or doctor's prescription.
Provide consultation to parents, schedule and attend quarterly classroom meetings as needed to support carryover of skills.
Attend Lead Teacher meetings to provide consultation and training to staff.

Position Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide direct (on-site), quality, speech therapy to students by assisting the program through achieving the following responsibilities:

Conduct speech evaluations as necessary for initial placements and ongoing progress assessments.
Develop Plans of Care for each individual student, and provide written quarterly reports and discharge summaries. Attend I.E.P., I.F.S.P., and family meetings as scheduled or required.
Provide training, direction, and guidance on speech therapy goals to the Teaching Staff.
Supervise any speech assistants in accordance with requirements outlined by the Maine Board of Examiners on Speech-Language Pathology.
Work in conjunction with Behavior Analysts, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Teaching Staff to provide cohesive programming to the students.
