DIRECTOR, EVENTS & PROMOTIONS
Meals on Wheels
The Assistant Director of Events & Promotions will lead the development, planning and coordination of our signature gala and annual volunteer and donor 'thank you' event, as well as other 3rd party events throughout the year. This planning and coordination includes logistics/timeline; event promotions and collateral; social media and website updates; communications with media, staff, stakeholders, sponsors/sponsorships, vendors.

Also leads the planning for the expansion and growth of the organization's social media presence, relevance, content and use including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs, YouTube, Instagram, etc. to position the organization as relevant, highly visible and to increase fundraising and event efforts.

A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field and 2-3 years of experience in the planning, development and growth of events.

• Social media and website updating/posting skills with graphic layout skills combine with the ability to communicate the right message for the project at hand.

• Proficient computer skills, included demonstrated competencies in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and well as Publisher, Photo Filter and Adobe;

• Strong writing/editing and verbal communication skills with an exceptional attention to detail.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR THE HOME DELIVERED MEALS PROGRAM BALTIMORE, MARYLAND

Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Lead a team of regional operations and client support staff, and oversee day to day operations of regional meal distribution, including maintaining a master schedule for clients services, providing training and support to staff, maintaining quality and consistency in service delivery and assuring timely completion of contract requirements.

As a member of the Central Maryland Client Services Department, this position reports to the Director of Client Engagement and works collaboratively with the volunteer support services team to holistically support clients using best practices in aging services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in human services field, 3-5 years related work experience,

SUBSTITUTE CLIENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST & SITE COORDINATOR

WHAT DOES A SITE COORDINATOR DO?:
1. Substitute Site Coordinators play an integral role in our organization from volunteer scheduling to coordinating delivery to our homebound clients.

2. It is important to maintain communication between your assigned site and their respective regional office to ensure that each client receives their meal.

WHAT DOES A CLIENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST DO?:
1. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients and their families, providing information regarding MOWCM services and other local resources.

2.You will assist with client intakes, determine eligibility for service and may assist with meal delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Computer literacy
3. Foodservice experience desirable.
4. Current driver's license, dependable licensed and insured vehicle
5. Able to pass criminal background check.
6. Willingness to serve at any site within the regional service area

Volunteer Opportunities
Meals on Wheels
MEAL DELIVERY OPPORTUNITIES
Delivery volunteers are needed Monday through Friday to deliver meals to homebound seniors and disabled individuals. You may volunteer once a week, once a month, or whenever your schedule permits. Delivery hours are from 11:00am -1:00pm. Carroll and Harford County meals are delivered Monday, Wednesday and Friday, ONLY.

DRIVERS/VISITORS Driver/visitors teams deliver meals to homebound individuals. Meals are taken to the door of each home and you may spend a few minutes talking with the client. Drivers must be 18+ years of age with a valid Maryland driver’s license and their own vehicle.

MINUTE SQUAD MEMBER
You can volunteer to fill in for regular drivers or visitors who are away during winter, summer or for an extended period of time or even in a minute’s notice.

MOMS FOR MEALS
Our Moms for Meals program encourages parents to volunteer with their children during the summer and winter breaks from school as a driver/visitor team. Home School families are welcome and community service hours are available.

MEALS ON TWO WHEELS
The Meals on Two Wheels program is designed to be a healthy and environmentally friendly delivery alternative. We have identified biker friendly routes and can help to identify one near the volunteer. We can help volunteers to configure their own bike for delivery. Note: Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland does not accept volunteers needing court appointed hours. Primary Responsibilities:

• Follow all company and client policies, rules and regulations.

• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation

• Responsible for preparing, cooking and portioning all menu items by following instructions provided on standardized recipes.

• Check menus, prepare and cook items following standard recipes completing the cooking in time for service.

• Check temperatures of food items and complete logs before service.
