The English Department at the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) is currently searching for English Teachers to take on ONE or MORE English classes for 1st, 2ND and 3RD -year students of Science at their Versailles campus (second semester/ starting February 2021).
Teaching will be carried out at the campus located at 45 Avenue des États Unis, 78000 Versailles.
Classes are available depending on your availability.
Mondays to Fridays
8:00 – 11:10
OR
9:40 – 12:50
OR
1:40 - 4:50
Each class represents 3 hours per week, for a total of 30 hours over 10 weeks. A full teaching brochure is available for the L1 and L2 classes. which means limited preparation.
For recruitment:
All candidates must be fully eligible for a vacataire contract - meaning you must fulfil one of the following requirements:
- to be able to provide an attestation of 300h hours/year teaching work from a principal employer (in France) over the entire academic year (if you are working in the private sector, a simple letter from your employer will do; if you are in the public sector, you will need an agreement from your institution called an "autorisation de cumul")
- OR to be able to provide an attestation of 900h non-teaching work over the entire academic year
- OR to be enrolled in a PhD in France over the entire academic year
- OR to have been an auto-entrepreneur for over 3 years.
Payment is transferred at the end of the teaching semester, at the standard vacataire rate of 41.41 (brut) per hour.

The Ministry of Culture in France is urgently looking for an English teacher / exam specialist to develop an exam for their personnel which is a part of their "concours" scheme for internal and external promotions within the public sector. I've posted their message below for the information. Please email me if you would like me to send your contact details to the person in charge. I believe they can hire independents or individuals who are already working with CDI contracts. They are willing to reimburse travel expenses if you don't live in Paris.

Je suis à la recherche d’un.e prof d’anglais pour le concours.
Il s’agirait de trouver 10 à 15 textes d’actualité, d’une longueur d’une page maxi. Le nombre de texte sera affiné en fonction du nombre de candidats à auditionner.
Et d’auditionner en présentiel, à la maison des examens à Arcueil, pendant 20 minutes des candidats, sur une durée de 3 à 5 jours.
Sur la semaine du 30 mai au 3 juin 2022. Mieux vaut bloquer la semaine entière car je n’ai pas encore le nombre de candidats (inscriptions au concours en cours), et nous n’avons pas encore établi les plannings.
Rémunération : 35 euro par texte, et il me semble que c’est 13 € de l’heure pour les heures d’audition. Transports remboursés sur justificatifs et restauration du midi remboursée sans justificatif dans la limite des tarifs réglementaires.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent teaching skills, an advanced knowledge of language teaching, proven experience of using new technologies within language teaching, advanced intercultural skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A proven experience in personal tutoring and pastoral care is a plus. The candidate must be a native or near native English speaker and have a good level of French (B1).

Linked to SKILS, SKEMA institute for languages and sport, your main responsibilities will be the following:
To deliver English and communication courses (English for Academic Purposes; Fundamentals of English; Academic Research and Writing, Public Speaking) within the BBA programme, linked to the Learning Objectives of the year / programme.
In line with the educational approaches of the programme, and under the supervision of the course leader, to design high quality and innovative lesson content using various ICT tools and to ensure the online availability of materials and activities on the K2 platform (Moodle).
To participate, under the supervision of the Head of English Courses, in the development of the syllabus, teaching activities, assessment methods and examinations for the BBA English courses.
To coordinate the team of personal tutors and contribute to the development of the role of personal tutor for the BBA programme; to recruit and train new tutors.
To coordinate cross-curricular projects on the BBA programme, including updating the content and evaluations of the projects, recruiting and coordinating teachers and coaches as well as liaising with the Student Office on operational matters.
