Lisle Violin Shop is seeking experienced string instrument repair specialists for full-time positions in our workshop. These also offer additional training in a variety of repairs and techniques. Lisle Violin Shop maintains the largest string workshop in Texas to support students, teachers, and professional players. Our workshop handles a wide variety of repairs for stringed instruments and bows and setup and maintenance.
Experienced Bow Technician - Compensation: Based on experience and education
• Must have two years of bow restoration/repair or rehair experience or completion of recognized bow rehair/repair school.
This position offers an opportunity to gain experience and refinement of rehair techniques. You will also be able to practice other common repairs, such as but not limited to: Replacing head plates, Windings of various materials, Thumb Leathers and replacing eyelets. More advanced bow repair techniques will be taught as skill and ability levels indicate. Shop tools will be provided
The above positions are full time. There is a 90 day probationary period for these positions. Once the 90 day probationary period is completed, you will have the following benefits: vacation time, Simple IRA, and company provided health insurance. • Multiple Positions Available – Based on Specialty Violin/Viola, Cello/Bass, or All
• Must have two years previous cello/bass repair or setup experience or be a graduate from a known violin making or repair school)
• This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of new instrument setup as well as a vast array of instrument repairs. Shop tools will be provided

Head Luthier - Workshop Manager
Sam's Strings Violin Shop
Sam's Strings Violin Shop, located in the bustling suburban community of Katy, TX just outside of Houston, is looking for a team leader, with ample skills and experience as a violin luthier. In addition to training and overseeing assistants, the role would include working on in-house and customer repair/restoration projects, new instrument setup, making of workshop instruments, assistance with maintaining rental fleet, and general customer service. In addition to very competitive salary (60k-75k), we offer excellent benefits and professional development opportunities.
Requirements: Graduate from a making school or equivalent training; 5+ years experience shop experience. Prior management experience is a plus. Candidates must have work authorization in the USA.
Sam will be available for in person interviews at the VSA Thursday-Saturday.
