This is a full-time Research Project Manager position in the Division of Gender, Sexuality, and Health at the Research Foundation of Mental Hygiene (based at Columbia University Irving Medical Center), working on a new R01 led by Dr. Jae Sevelius, a clinical psychologist and Professor of Medical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at CUIMC, in close collaboration with Dr. Asa Radix, Director of Research at Callen-Lorde.
The Research Project Manager will be leading the New York site implementation of a randomized controlled trial of an intervention to reduce health disparities among transgender women of color. This is a two-site study; the second site is at Corktown Health Center in Detroit, MI, in collaboration with the Love Her Collective and MPI Dr. Kristi Gamarel at the University of Michigan.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing, implementing, and monitoring community-based research as well as leading diverse teams, and will be passionate and knowledgeable about serving and working in collaboration with trans communities.

POSITIONS: • Gender Health Equity Policy Specialist (Health Program Specialist II): The Health Program Specialist II (HPS II) leads the development of health policy responses related to health equity issues experienced by gender and sexual minority populations and reproductive and sexual health issues including abortion access, serving as a subject matter expert. The HPS II also leads and coordinates the implementation of training and technical assistance efforts focused on building the capacity of transgender, gender nonconforming and intersex-serving nonprofit organizations and other LBTQ organizations. Finally, the HPS II is a highly skilled technical program consultant expected to provide coordination of various activities including program planning; stakeholder engagement; interpretation of research; and contract and budget management and lead the development of operational processes and systems to support the Gender Health Equity Section (GHES) including coordination and support for implementing and monitoring GHES activities, goals and objectives.
