We are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week + benefits and weekends free) experienced bicycle mechanic and rebalancer to service a growing corporate bike program at one of our client organizations in Sunnyvale. In addition to maintaining the fleet bikes used daily by hundreds of employees, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the daily distribution of fleet bikes around campus.

The ideal candidate should be able to competently diagnose, repair and maintain bicycles, be comfortable working outdoors, riding a bike in varying weather conditions, and providing excellent customer service.

Compensation:

We are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week + benefits and weekends free) experienced Shop Lead to service a growing corporate bike program at one of our client organizations in Sunnyvale. This position will be responsible for the daily operation of two bike shops located on campus, and will include responsibilities ranging from purchasing, inventory, operations, customer service, as well as assistance with miscellaneous events, classes, and rebalancing of campus bikes as necessary. This position will report directly to the Program Manager.

The ideal candidate should be well versed in bicycle repair, detail oriented, organized, excited to work in a fast past environment with changing priorities, and all while providing excellent customer service.

Compensation:

Someone interested in transportation policy and politics, and how it affects bicycling. You will be assisting our lobbyist with research, creating training and explainer materials, writing action alerts, and working with state and local advocacy organizations. Issues covered will be transportation policy, active transportation and health, traffic enforcement and equity, and automated vehicles.

Job Responsibilities

● Following implementation of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and working with state and local advocates to identify and highlight excellent biking and walking projects to policy makers.
● Helping state and local advocates take action on federal issues as needed.
● Writing fact sheets, action alerts and blogs on key bicycling issues for use with Congress.
● Researching new members of Congress to identify potential allies.
● Coordinating sessions for the National Bike Summit in March, and webinars throughout the year.
● Coordinating and participating in lobby visits with congressional staff.
● Participating in coalition meetings and work including the Transportation Equity Caucus

Qualifications

● Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
● Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
● Interest, understanding, and commitment to communicate the mission, goals of the League.
● Ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages, abilities, cultural groups, economic
status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

The position is 20 hours/week for one year. Pay is $20/hour.

Bike Education Coordinator
Bike SLO County
The Education Coordinator will be responsible for leading, participating, and supporting Bicycle Education programs. Specifically, The Education Coordinator will lead in the development and delivery of a comprehensive bicycle education program for elementary school students (Safe Routes To School) to adults through a combination of video content, in-person training, and virtual instruction. The Education Coordinator will be responsible for combined oversight of all the Bike Education programs, RideWell education, and interfacing with SLO County Public Health, SLOCOG, and the City Active Transportation offices for bike education outreach and instruction.

The Education Coordinator will demonstrate the ability to excel in the areas of bicycle education instruction; video production; contract and grant management; invoicing; event management; volunteer recruitment and management; public speaking to audiences ranging from small groups of adults to elementary school students; interaction and supporting a diverse public clientele; and acting as a respectful, smart cycling ambassador to the community. The Bike Education Coordinator shall perform additional duties assigned by the Executive Director.

The preferred candidate will have experience as an educator or coach, with League Cycling Instructor certification (or willingness to obtain LCI certification within three months).
Demonstrated experience teaching and training through in-person and social media platforms is preferred. Work hours are flexible and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The Bike Education Coordinator is a part-time hourly position consisting of approximately 16-24 hours per week. Possibility of increased hours during school year.
