The training director leads a residency dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders in academic and public psychiatry. The general adult residency program admits 16 applicants per year. The overarching purpose of the Director of the residency training program is to develop and implement innovative models of training, curriculum development, and scholarship at UCSF. Director of Neuropsychiatry

The Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute announces a search for a Director of Neuropsychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology. The Department is one of four departments within the Neurological Institute (the other three are the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation). A new Center of Neuropsychiatry will be established to complement the existing Centers of Adult Behavioral Health, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Alcohol and Drug Recovery that fold under the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology.

This Endowed Chair leadership position in Neuropsychiatry will guide and mentor the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology in endeavors that transcend clinical and research activities with key Neurological Institutes stakeholders, including Center for Brain Health, Epilepsy Center, Multiple Sclerosis Center, Center for Comprehensive Pain Recovery, and Center for Neurological Restoration (Movement Disorders). Advanced behavioral health therapies, including neuromodulation, will fall under the purview of this position. The access to cutting edge electrophysiology, imaging, and genomics expertise within the Neurological Institute will set the foundation for exciting interdisciplinary care and discovery. In addition, this leader will be instrumental in recruitment of top clinician scientists that will be part of the new, state of the art, 1 million square foot, Neurological Institute building, to be completed in 2026.

SAVAHCS (Tucson Va) Psychiatry Outpatient

As a Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) psychiatrist at the SAVAHCS you will provide outpatient care to Veterans with mental health and substance use disorders as part of an integrated team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and clinical pharmacists. Our psychiatrists have an assigned Care Coordinator who triages walk-in patients, answers patient phone calls, and serves as a physician extender as appropriate. Intakes are scheduled for 60 minutes, follow ups are 30 minutes. Our psychiatrists are scheduled for 6 clinical hours per day. Call is limited to 3-4 weeks per year of home call (psychiatry resident is first call) and in-house rounding on the weekend. Weekend days are compensated by having weekdays off. Alternative working conditions, such as telework and compressed tours will be considered. Teaching opportunities with the University of Arizona Medical School are available.

The VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) in Portland, Oregon seeks a board-certified psychiatrist or psychologist to serve as the Mental Health Clinical Director for the Mental Health Division. VAPORHCS is a large quaternary care (1A) facility serving over 95,000 Veterans.

The Clinical Director is an integral part of a Mental Health Leadership team that includes the Nursing and Administrative Directors. Together this triad oversees a division of ~400 employees. Operations include a 21-bed inpatient unit, an ECT/TMS program, 29-bed Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, and 7 outpatient clinics spread throughout central and northwestern Oregon. The Clinical Director reports directly to the Chief of Staff.

VAPORHCS is a major teaching and research site affiliated with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). VAPORHCS hosts ~ 2,000 health professional learners and ranks in the top 10 nationwide among VAs in research grant support, with >170 investigators in basic science, clinical, and health services research and > 1000 active protocols. The MH Division trains over 170 learners from various disciplines and has 16 funded principal investigators receiving over $8 million in yearly funding from the VA, NIH, DOD, and others.

The desired Clinical Director has a strong clinical, administrative, and academic background; and can provide oversight of day-to-day operations, be clinically active, can successfully coordinate a broad continuum of programs (including research and education), and can work well within a senior management team. The incumbent must be committed to professional enrichment, merit promotion, equal employment opportunity, and positive labor relations. An OHSU academic appointment will be commensurate with experience.
