Psychologist - Cancer Center - UT Southwestern Medical Center
UT Southwestern Medical Center The UT Southwestern Medical Center Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology, is seeking an outstanding psychologist. The position is primarily clinical with opportunities ... to participate in research activities through the Cancer Center and across the University. This position will be located in the Psycho-oncology Program within the Harold C. Simmons Cancer Center and larger University Hospital system. The Simmons Cancer Center is one of the elite cancer centers in the country, and the only NCI (National Cancer Institute)-designated comprehensive cancer center in North Texas. The Psycho-oncology program works closely with other disciplines, including Oncology, Social Work, Nutrition, Palliative Care, Pain Management, and Chaplain Services. Within this context, the incumbent will provide these services in additional SCC locations within the Dallas area. These will include the Simmons Cancer Center locations at the Richardson Outpatient Clinic and forthcoming Red Bird Clinic in South Dallas, as well as at the primary Cancer Center on the Dallas campus. Responsibilities of the psychologist include provision of clinical assessment, therapy and biopsychosocial intervention, consultation, and evidence-based program development. Opportunities also exist for involvement in research and teaching in our APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology, including supervision of pre- and post-doctoral trainees, and participation in the overall academic mission of the Center.
