Platform Analyst
Applico Applico is a boutique advisory for CEOs of traditional enterprises to engage in partnerships, investments or M&A with platform startups. We will go end-to-end from validating ... the business model, to executing the transaction and then integrating the acquired entity. We'll put our fees up against success of the integration and co-invest into the deals when possible.
Applico is looking for a Platform Analyst to help forge partneships, investments and acquisitions between our large enterprise clients and up-and-coming startups.
You will be a critical contributor to the team evaluating external partnerships, running deal diligence and executing the transaction. You will work alongside seasoned entrepreneurs who have built successful platform businesses.
What You Will Do
Support an engagement to identify and launch platform business opportunities
Conduct industry analysis across a variety of verticals
Provide your financial expertise by building the model to support a subsequent transaction
Build operating and financial models
Help clients interpret your models into actionable guidance for key decisions
Work alongside CEO/CIO/CFOs of some of the biggest companies in the world
Work closely with other cross-functional groups
Assist the deal diligence & execution team to finalize transactions with platform startups
Assist in the creation of platform frameworks to further establish Applico as the thought leader in Platform Innovation
Qualifications
2+ years of investment banking, VC or PE experience a requirement. Front-office an expectation with client facing experience.
Investment experience directly with tech companies and startups a big plus
Excellent at servicing clients both internally & externally
Can utilize & articulate basic business principles; possesses fundamental understanding of platform economics
Strong analytical and communication skills
High attention to detail
Relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher

Then go out and get them! -Maintain direct, day-to-day, cross-functional, senior-level Client contacts. Pitch potential partnership/invest/acquire opportunities. -Package stories, insights, and business frameworks to mentor Applico team members -Lead a lean team of associate/analyst resources -Contribute to internal and external team meetings, and report on goals and accomplishments
Requirements: -Vice President or Director at a prominent VC firm, PE or boutique investment bank -Experience with leading deals via investments or acquisitions in tech startups a must -Experience raising institutional capital a plus -Appreciates complexities of building platform business network (experience with platform investments/acquisition a big plus) -Sees the big picture and understands how work fits into overall scope of the company and client
