You will have fundamental responsibility for all advising operations in the in the CNAS Graduate Student Advising Center (GSAC). This position reports directly to the Director and is the primary supervisor for the staff of the GSAC. The Graduate Student Advising Director coordinates planning related to GSAC operation and improvement, makes recommendations to Director regarding staff workload and new procedures in the Center, and advises the Associate Deans on Center operations. Director may fill in as primary support of one or more graduate programs when there are advisor outages in the center. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and maintain fairness in administering multiple standards and procedures for the various programs. Advises faculty, staff, and students regarding policies and procedures in all aspects of graduate student advising and student services. Works with the various programs and graduate advisors to develop short-term and long-term goals to meet the advising needs of students. Develops reports and analyzes college and campus graduate student data in a variety of areas: Recruitment, Admissions, Continuing Student Retention and Success, Alumni Placement. Advises Director, Divisional Dean, and college partners on graduate student trends and proposes data-driven solutions.
