Pecometh Camp and Retreat Ministries Responsible for: the proper care of the property, buildings and equipment, including preventive maintenance, repair and replacement, if necessary; the training, evaluation, and su... pervision of staff and volunteers to achieve the above; providing input to the Executive Director on needed capital purchases; budgetary oversight of applicable expense line items, including but not limited to supplies, repairs and salaries.
Tasks: 1. Articulate the mission, vision and values, serving as a representative of Pecometh’s ministry in all instances, in both word and deed. 2. Maintain a list of routine duties and tasks which are needed for safe and efficient operation of the facilities. 3. Perform routine duties and tasks in accordance with schedule set up in agreement with the Executive Director. 4. With the approval of the Executive Director, hire and supervise additional staff needed for maintenance and groundskeeping. 5. Work with the Executive Director and Director of Program Ministries to be sure specific program needs are met with regard to property/equipment. 6. Coordinate work of volunteers in making repairs or improvements to facilities and work with the Development Assistance to administer the Cabin Adoption program. 7. Oversee recycling program. 8. Responsible for scheduled upkeep and repair of equipment and facilities; making recommendations to the Executive Director regarding contracts for service or repair of facilities or equipment. 9. Responsible for ensuring the provision of services and maintenance within budgetary restrictions; making recommendations to the Executive Director regarding budgetary needs for facilities. 10. Responsible for the Information Technology Infrastructure including, but not limited to internet availability, network connections and telephone systems.
Pecometh Camp and Retreat Ministries Position: Director of Retreat Ministries
Job Description: To administer and oversee all aspects of retreat operations including, but not limited to, reservations, sal... es, housekeeping, food service, programming, hosting, and billing.
Accountability: Executive Director
Tasks:
Articulate the mission, vision and values, serving as a representative of Pecometh’s ministry in all instances, in both word and deed.
Maintain reservations schedules, collect and forward information to appropriate site staff to ensure outstanding service for guests.
Talk to prospective guest groups to ascertain which facility would best suit the needs of their group. Answer inquiries and give tours.
Provide proposals, secure reservation agreements, dietary needs, rooming requirements and answer all questions related to their visit.
Hire and supervise housekeeping and hosting staff to exceed the hospitality expectations of each guest group, hosting as needed.
Coordinate with the Director of Facilities and Director of Program Ministries to ensure that facilities and program requirements are met for each guest group.
Supervise the Food Service Manager to ensure an outstanding guest dining experience.
Coordinate with the summer Food Service contractor to ensure a quality guest group food experience.
Responsible for the Riverview Retreat Center Gift Shop.
Coordinate Guest Host Programs.
Monitor and update the Pecometh website regarding guest groups and retreats.
Other tasks, as negotiated.
Salary Range: $42,000- $48,000, housing may be available.
Don Lee Camp & Retreat Center b Statement: The Program Intern is a one year, paid position designed to give a broad overview and experience of camp and retreat ministry, including retreats, environmental educa... tion, summer camp and overall administration. The internship will be broad in scope but with the flexibility to focus on the individual’s gifts and talents while meeting the needs of the camp program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist and lead as needed with weekend retreats, including hosting and leading programing and assisting in planning. Assist and lead as needed with Coastal staff training and programming, including leading staff training classrooms, hosting groups, corresponding with school groups and other administrative tasks associated with EE. Assist with animal care as needed. Training will be provided. Serve as Summer Camp Coordinator during summer camp. This will include helping to plan summer camp with full time staff, including parent communication, staff training, programing, policies and procedures for staff and campers. Assist in planning and leading staff training. Assist in interviewing and hiring process, on boarding of summer staff. Assist waterfront coordinator as needed with preparations for the sailing program. Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate or a college student looking for an extended internship opportunity. A shorter time frame will be considered for qualified candidates. Onsite housing and meals, when served, are included as a portion of the compensation. Don Lee Center is located in eastern North Carolina in Arapahoe, NC, on the Neuse River Estuary. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree.
Energetic self-starter with ability to work independently.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks effectively, project management, attention to detail, capability to create and maintain filing systems.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with guests, staff, and supervisor.
FACILITIES & HOSPITALITY Assist with preparing and cleaning camp for guests.
Taking shifts with other staff as the on-call staff when guests are on property.
