Family Engagement Consultant
MDPH Division for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking an
individual with experience in engaging and sustaining families of
children and youth with special health needs as partners who provide
expert input and feedback aimed at improving and enhancing services.
This position, Family Engagement Consultant, will sit within the Bureau
of Family Health and Nutrition (BFHN) specifically within the BFHN’s
Division for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs (DCYSHN).
This individual will work directly with the DCYSHN’s Pediatric Palliative
Care Network (PPCN), a community-based program that provides
services to address unmet physical, emotional, social, and spiritual
needs of children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The
Family Engagement Consultant will work with the PPCN Program
Director to enhance PPCN’s family engagement initiatives starting with
initiation and facilitation of a Family Advisory Committee that will
provide input and feedback into PPCN’s next Request for Responses
(RFR) and the review and updating of PPCN Standards. The Family
Engagement Consultant will also explore and provide guidance on a
range of other Family Engagement initiatives including ongoing quality
improvement and support to the eight contracted PPCN vendors on
how to incorporate Family Engagement into their service delivery.
