IMBA Trail Solutions Planner II

The position of a Trail Solutions Planner II will collaborate with project managers, planners, and Trail Solutions directors while developing feasibility and assessment reports, trails concept plans and trail master plans, and design development deliverables. This position will lead and manage projects plus assist with business development, and interface with the many programs that support IMBA’s mission.
Manage Trail Solutions planning/design projects, budgets, timelines and support staff.
Coordinate project lifecycle including communications with stakeholders, monitoring progress, update schedules, gather any missing or additional information and resources.
Lead the creation of planning concepts, design development, and construction details.
Lead “in the field” project tasks.
Authoring of planning and design documents.
Respond to consulting services inquiries and support business development tasks.
Manage project data acquisition and creation of GIS, CAD, GPS, and Adobe based data.
Meet the performance goals established by IMBA’s leadership
Attend required company and departmental meetings
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Five (5) to Seven (7) years of planning and design experience in the professional trail development industry.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate field of
Landscape Architecture, Planning, Civil Engineering, or similar.
Experience working with and managing teams in a consulting/contracting setting.
Experience working with land management agencies and other government entities.
Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
Experience with estimating project and construction budgets.
Experience in report writing for project proposals and deliverables
Highly skilled in MS Office Suite.
Highly skilled in GIS, CAD, and Adobe Suite.
Experience with GPS tools and data collection.
Extensive and diverse Mountain Biking Experience
The Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Senior Facilites Planner

This position will provide physical planning, design and development services in the Department of Campus Planning and Landscape Architecture (CPLA) within Facilities Planning & Delivery, in the Division of Facilities Planning and Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Campus Planning and Landscape Architecture.
The successful candidate must be able to translate the functional needs of schools, college and division into facility programs and plans that are coordinated with Facilities Planning & Management and institutional strategic goals. All planning is in coordination with the approved Campus Master Plan and guided by unit facilities master plans. The incumbent must be comfortable working in a highly iterative, multi-year facilities planning environment that is both at the site specific and macro scale of the university.
The position requires excellent graphic, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining a commitment to strong team dynamics in all aspects of the work.
Principal duties of the position include:
Review school, college, and divisional space and facilities needs to determine their relationship to the institution's overall instructional, research and outreach mission, long range facilities and strategic plans, capital budget and project implementation.
Develop financial strategies, capital budget request documents and project cost estimates for advance planning initiatives.
Support planning initiatives with historical analyses, reports, site and architectural concept design and graphic presentations to various committees and leadership units on campus.

Enterprise GIS Manager

Working within the division of Facilities Planning & Management (FPM), in the department of Campus Planning & Landscape Architecture (CPLA) this position will create, manage, and expand the geospatial information available to campus users. The Position will systematically work on a variety of tasks related to CPLA as well as insure this information can inform and create the baseline standards in the development of an FPM Enterprise GIS System and Web Applications.
This position is the primary point of contact for geospatial needs within FPM and to our campus customers. The Position will ensure the Division’s system runs efficiently through the precise management of the enterprise geodatabase, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online Organization; this includes data management, content curation, application development, and system planning. The desirable applicant will have exposure to relational database management and server-side operating systems such as Windows Server and/or Linus. Direct oversight of the SQL database and production server falls outside the purview of this position. The Position should expect to shift priorities regularly as the position oversees all facets of a GIS, and can be categorized into the following three groups: administration, development and maintenance, and data creation and analysis. As part of the system planning, this position is expected to assist all divisions within FP&M with coordinating existing and future GIS related needs. The strongest applicant will demonstrate an ability to take initiative, work with a high level of autonomy, and will consistently strive to develop comprehensive solutions that will improve workflows and organizational efficiency.
