FDA Tobacco Enforcement and Control and WI-DHS
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is now hiring Underage Tobacco Purchasers (UP’s), in Brown County, Wisconsin. UP’s assist Wisconsin FDA Tobacco Enforcement and Control staff by attempting undercover tobacco buys to access tobacco retailer compliance. UP’s do not do undercover tobacco buys where they live. Interested applicants must be 16 to 20 years of age.

The pay rate is $15.50 per hour. UP’s will receive paid training and transportation is provided. The hours are extremely flexible - we will work around another job or school. The position is part-time, interesting, easy and looks great on job or scholarship application.

If you are a prevention professional, who lives or works in the Counties listed above, if you know some youth/young adults 16 to 20 years of age, who do not use tobacco products, alcohol, or illicit drugs, and have good communication skills, please pass on this terrific job opportunity.

Prevention Specialist

Position Purpose

The Prevention Specialist is responsible for providing anonymous and confidential counseling and testing with high-risk individuals for HIV, Hepatitis C (HCV), syphilis and other sexually transmitted infections (STI), where applicable. In addition, this position will provide prevention education services, needle exchange and outreach to individuals engaging in high-risk behaviors such as men who have sex with men (MSM) and people who inject drugs (PWID).

Director of Substance Use Initiatives

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Office of the Secretary (OS) is recruiting to fill a Director of Substance Use Initiatives position.

As the Director of Substance Use Initiatives, you will serve as part of the Department’s leadership team and will advise on the Department’s strategic goals related to substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery services - with an emphasis on Opioid programming. The position requires cross-division and cross-systems collaboration with work managed both within DHS and among affiliated state agencies (e.g., Department of Justice, Department of Corrections, etc.), private state entities (e.g., treatment centers), and nationally as specific substance issues arise (e.g., Fentanyl, methamphetamine, etc.).

You will:
Serve as the spokesperson across the state regarding assigned substance use issues. Efforts include partnering with organizations, identifying barriers, and leveraging resources to enhance outcomes in support of Department goals.
Advise the Secretary’s Office and Division Administrators on appropriate directions for funding and programming.
Ensure federal grants and state funding are achieving stated goals and associated objectives and are carried out per identified work plans.
Collaborate with and serves as a liaison to publicly funded initiatives addressing substance use, including opioid misuse and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery in Wisconsin.
