Payroll Specialist

PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Atascadero Glass, Inc. is a local glazing contractor which has served the central coast since 1963. We manufacture and install storefront, windows, shower enclosures and other glass related products in commercial construction. We have an immediate full-time opening for the position of Payroll Specialist.

Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Some overtime may be required.

Classification: Non-Exempt

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing weekly payroll, off-cycle checks/adjustments, creating and submitting certified payroll reports, and other authorized payroll transactions. Requires a good knowledge of common payroll processes, CA wage and hour requirements, payroll entries, final pay requirements, documentation and auditing expectations.

Under the direction of the Controller, demonstrates personal professionalism and integrity, ensuring our payroll practices consistently meet compliance standards, are accurate and timely.

Requirements:

2 years’ experience processing in-house payroll, with a heavy focus on Hourly wage and hour pay rules and compliance.
Demonstrate knowledge of CA wage laws.
Knowledge of Public Works requirements
Ability to work well with others and maintain a positive disposition when working against deadlines.
Provide reports of Payroll Taxes and liabilities.
A team player that works well to independently achieve results
Must have good communication & organization skills
Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Construction payroll experience is a plus.

Manage mid-large size commercial glazing projects ranging in size from $50K to $2M and will manage an active back-log of ~$3M in total projects

Ensure that all materials are complete, accurate and ready when needed by the field crews
Requirements:
Previous construction project management experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is beneficial, but not required based on previous project management experience
Strong communication skills
Computer skills including MS Office. CAD and Bluebeam experience is a plus.

Drafter
Atascadero Glass Inc.
The Lead Drafter / Fabricator will work closely with the pre-construction team to quickly and efficiently produce quality construction shop drawings and order documents. You will support the operations team by providing accurate and timely fabrication drawings. You will use AutoCAD software to modify and verify initial schematic designs and transform them into working documents and AGI specific fabrication drawing software (PartnerPak & GlazierStudio) for final frame fabrication.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Create and revise project shop drawings.
· Independently draft documents when provided with verbal or written instruction by Preconstruction or Project Management team.
· Maintain high quality standards using sound drafting principals.
· Coordinate requested changes with Project Engineers and Project Managers.
· Generate all drawings on AGI specific (PartnerPak & GlazierStudio) order and fabrication software.

MEASUREMENT AND PERFORMANCE:
· Accuracy of shop drawings
· Accuracy of fabrication drawings
· Timely generation and release of shop drawings and fabrication drawings to preconstruction and fabrication teams.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
· Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and Adobe.
· Must have strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
· Associate Degree or higher in Drafting and/or Design.
· AutoCAD Drafting Certification preferred
