Data Science Research Intern

Help the Red Ventures Red Platforms team push technology forward in one of two disciplines. First, through applied reinforcement learning - you'll work to apply state of the art reinforcement learning methods to sequential decisions making problems in the RV digital marketing ecosystem. Learn, iterate, and develop POCs of technology that could meaningfully impact the way we handle our 300MM+ monthly web sessions. Second, through graph embeddings - you'll leverage graph neural networks to create meaningful representations of our user journeys and properties for use in existing data driven applications. Evaluate and apply state of the art methodologies to meaningfully impact our deployed data solution and unlock new opportunities.
Use advanced machine learning, statistical modeling and optimization techniques to build real-world solutions for online and offline decision-making
Own data science projects from start to finish with limited guidance
Collect and mine data from disparate data sources, digging deeper to understand the process behind the data
Communicate effectively with business and data science leaders on project status, timeline and technical results
Translate business opportunities into data science problems, clearly defining project scope + performance metrics to measure success

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB:
The Healthcare Data Analyst manages fiscal centric data analytics related to capitation, cost drivers and decision support of the organization catchment area. Interprets/analyzes data and develops ad hoc reports from a variety of data sources. This role requires high technical proficiency and deep understanding of Medical cost analytics including financial forecasting, cost drivers and claims structure. Working independently and collaboratively and utilize advanced technical skills to review service utilization, per member per month and unit cost trends for various Medicaid lines of business.
Note: This position requires access to and use of confidential healthcare information or protected health information (PHI) as described in laws addressing patient confidentiality, including, but not limited to, the federal HIPAA law, the Confidentiality of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Patient Records law, 42 CFR Part 2, and various state laws.
