-Assist in research and development of financing and long-term strategic plans that meet the client’s unique goals and objectives.
-Generate preliminary financing scenarios and prepare summaries, presentations and memos for clients using Excel, DBC, Word, and/or PowerPoint.
-Gather, analyze, and summarize economic and financial information and trends.
Prepare presentations to clients/issuers, credit rating agencies, governing bodies, bondholders, and other key stakeholders.
-Utilize strong communication abilities with working group professionals, both internal (underwriters, investment bankers and/or financial advisors) and external (clients/issuers, bond counsel, bidders) to facilitate bond transactions.
-Create agendas and participate in working group calls or meetings.
-Coordinate bond sale process including detailed timelines, sale, and closing/funding.
-Compile demographic and debt information for municipal bond disclosure documents.
-Assist with the review of legal and offering documents for bond offerings.
-Draft requests for proposals for clients/issuers and assist in summarizing and evaluating resulting proposals.
-Draft responses to requests for proposals to acquire new clients.
-Ensure transaction details are recorded properly in department database, organize, and submit electronic deal files, and other data management and regulatory compliance related tasks.
-Perform Continuing Disclosure due diligence and assist client in complying with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Rule 15c2-12, if necessary.
-Assists in required Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) Electronic Municipal Market Access (EMMA) filings, if necessary.

Fixed Income Specialist

-Conduct reviews of preliminary official statements Baird intends to underwrite on competitive or negotiated basis including performing 5 year look backs to ensure the Municipal Issuer has complied with their financial filing obligations.
-Contact external Municipal Advisors and Public Finance Bankers to resolve any inconsistencies in the official statement prior to pricing
-Open new accounts for Fixed Income Sales in internal Firm systems to facilitate trading
-Manage entitlements across the department such as research distributions, trading platforms, etc.
-Monitor TRACE and MSRB reporting real time and resolve discrepancies with Fixed Income Trades. Review/compile reports for previous day activities and find/correct errors.

Assistant Municipal Underwriter

-Supports the Negotiated and Competitive Underwriters with respect to their day-to-day operations. This includes clerical, recordkeeping, ticketing, and new issue settlement duties.
-Works alongside our compliance group to ensure the Underwriting desk’s day-to-day operations are compliant with all procedures Baird’s compliance department has put in place.
-Assists Underwriters in communicating with Fixed Income teams, including Institutional traders and salespeople with regard to new issues managed by Baird.
-Communicates with Baird’s Public Finance department with respect to new Negotiated offerings both before and after a new issue has been brought to market by the Underwriting desk.
