Portland Center Stage at The Armory is seeking an innovative, seasoned development leader to join our team.
The Director of Development serves on the PCS leadership committee, reporting directly to the Managing Director, and works closely with the Artistic Director and the Board of Trustees to create, implement, manage, and evaluate a strategic fundraising plan. The Director of Development will be a hands-on and deeply involved fundraiser who provides exceptional leadership and management for all aspects of fundraising and development related activities, while effectively managing their department and mentoring their team, and sharing a deep commitment to the mission of PCS at The Armory. Working closely with marketing, the development team helps to support a total organizational budget of approximately $10.5 million, with roughly 45% of that currently in contributed income.
The Director of Development is charged with conceptualizing and implementing a sophisticated strategy for obtaining annual fund support from individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies; sponsorships, special events, planned giving; stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation of donors and prospects; identifying and maximizing granting opportunities; and working closely with local, regional and national foundation, corporate, government, and individual funders to identify and grow the resources to support Portland Center Stage’s artistic and community vision.

Communications Coordinator

For more than 40 years Raphael House of Portland has helped domestic violence survivors and their families find safety, hope, and independence. Our emergency shelter serves individuals and families fleeing intimate partner violence, and we proudly provide family-centered, culturally responsive, and gender-inclusive services. In addition to immediate safety and basic needs, survivors have access to ongoing programs and case management designed to help them achieve permanent housing, employment, and stability. We also work to break the cycle of violence via prevention education and have been providing training in local schools and throughout the community for more than a decade. Gift Officer - Oregon Symphony
Oregon Symphony
The Gift Officer is responsible for developing the donor pipeline by managing a portfolio valued at approximately $500K annually and comprised of 215 donors and donor prospects contributing mainly between 1,000 and $2,500+ annually.

The GO will accomplish goals through phone and email communication, written appeals, organizational events, and face-to-face contact in 100+ 1:1 meetings annually. The GO will additionally be responsible for identification of new prospects, conducting prospect research, portfolio forecasting, maintenance of donor/prospect contact information in the Tessitura database, and stewardship of donors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree plus 1+ years’ experience in Development, specifically with solicitation of leadership annual and/or major gifts; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Evidence of ability to achieve goals.
• Strong organizational skills; self-starter; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to effectively manage and grow relationships.
• Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written; customer service focus; ability to interact effectively and empathetically, and build rapport, with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
• Experience with tracking work in a donor database. Working knowledge of Excel and other programs in the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Tessitura a plus.
• Quantitative and logic skills; ability to budget and forecast with accuracy. Positive, imaginative, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed during concert season (approximately 3-5 nights per month).
• Sense of humor required. Passion for live symphonic music a plus.
