Camp Ernst, part of the Cincinnati YMCA, is looking for a dynamic leader to join our team as our Teen Leadership and Equity Program Director. You’ll join a fun and supportive team that provides more than 5000 young people each year high-quality overnight, day, family, and rental camp programs experiences. This director will focus on our extensive teen programs and specialty activity areas (ropes, mountain biking, and aquatics) and will guide the strategic goals and initiatives that increase the inclusion of all campers, families, and staff at Camp Ernst.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of working with youth and leading teams in various settings, a passion and understanding of how to lead equitable change, is comfortable navigating challenging or ambiguous situations, and isn’t afraid to get up on stage to sing a camp song.
The Program Director is required to live on-site with private camp housing May-September. Housing is not provided October-April. This is the best of both worlds: 4 months living in the paradise of a 365 acre wooded camp property and 8 months enjoying living anywhere in Greater Cincinnati!

Teen Director
Alamance County Community YMCA
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Youth and Sports, the Teen Director is responsible for leading and developing assigned Teen Programs, part-time teen program staff and volunteers. They must run the program with safety in the forefront. Overnight Camp Director

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Design, Develop, and implement a plan to attract and recruit new overnight camp participants
Plan logistics, safety, curriculum and staffing of Traditional Overnight Camp and Specialty Camp programs that meet all local, state, YMCA, and American Camp Association standards
Create and oversee the execution of a year-round
Cultivate Community Partnerships local to camp and in surrounding areas
Conduct pilots for new programs; develop plans and manage best practices through engagement of the staff team.
Provide professional support during year-round programming to oversee camping programs and other key areas/programs of camp as needed by the Executive Director
Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the overnight summer camp employees and volunteers.
Communicate effectively with parents, campers, community leaders and participants.
Effectively manage budgets; hold staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress.
Monitor progress towards branch’s goals by running and reviewing all necessary reports.
Coordinate marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to the Executive Director on related issues.
Lead the Y’s presence at community outreach, including day camp and teen programming.

Camping Sales Director

Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA the Sales Director is responsible for the implementation of ongoing camping sales strategies and activities both internal and external. The position provides direction, measurement and accountability to camping services sales and household growth, as well leading and guiding sales efforts in program areas including but not limited to Resident Camp, Day Camp, Environmental Education, Conference and Retreat and Corporate Services. Responsibilities include: achieving sales targets by monitoring KPI’s, prospect follow up, booking home shows and selling resident camp, day camp and other camping programming according to the Y’s sales guidelines.

SkyWild is a camp for autistic kids and their siblings. In 2024 we will host 1 week in Michigan and 1 week in New York.
Staff at Camp SkyWild volunteer 10 days of their time to participate in extensive training and provide a week of overnight camp for kids who often are excluded from typical camp experiences. We do all the regular activities- sleep in cabins, eat in the dining hall, archery, fishing, swimming, boating, high adventure, arts and crafts- but in an environment that is designed for and by kids who think and learn differently.
