This year the focus of the Donkey Welfare Symposium will be on recognizing the donkey that is healthy in both mind and body, as well as learning proper care to attain this level of health for your donkey at home.  Topics will include nutrition and physiology (especially as it relates to laminitis), wild burro ecology, and international welfare issues related to trade in donkeys.  Of course there will be lots more: training, dentistry, preventing stress, adaptation of donkeys to different climates, harness fitting, and hoof care.  This 3-day event will be capped off with a BLM donkey adoption event featuring donkeys that have been trained by UC Davis students!
