2019 Oklahoma Farmers Market & Agritourism Conference

The fifth annual Oklahoma Farmers Market and Agritourism Conference is taking place on February 28th from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn and Edmond Conference Center located at 2833 Conference Dr. in Edmond, OK. The conference is being facilitated by the ONIE Project, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Oklahoma Agritourism and key stakeholders from agricultural, community and public health agencies. The conference will also include a Pre-Conference Grant Writing Workshop and a Produce Safety Grower Training Course on February 27th as well as a Post-Conference Agritourism Rolling Workshop and an Innovative Growing Practices Tour on March 1st. A separate registration is required for the conference and workshops.

The conference has four tracks addressing topics of special interest to market managers, growers and producers, agritourism producers and community support organizations. The conference’s focus is to increase the availability of local food in Oklahoma communities, strengthen farmers markets and agritourism sites and provide opportunities for upcoming markets and agritourism operations. Topics will include starting a farmers market, accepting SNAP/EBT, marketing to the public, crop planting and technology, preparing the next generation of growers and more.
