Whova is an event management software company. We are hiring a full-time Conference / Event Planning Specialist who will be responsible for training employees to understand event planners’ perspectives and closely work with the marketing (and other) departments to help develop content to engage event organizers and products that make event organizers’ jobs easier. This position requires 2-3 years of conferences or association event planning experience and commuting to the office in San Diego.

How You will Make an Impact

  • Work with the marketing team to develop blogs, articles, newsletters, web content, product brochures and marketing videos that will attract event organizers’ attention and generate sales leads
  • Develop employee training programs to help them understand event organizers’ needs and perspectives and execute and further improve the programs
  • Work on certain projects with the leadership and related departments (e.g. marketing, product, and sales teams) to provide your insights and take an active role to do research, communicate with external people, create necessary materials or reports, and contribute to the projects
  • Occasionally help with company exhibitions at an expo, or related projects
  • Perform additional duties and assignments that help ensure a smooth and efficient business process

Necessary Skills and Experience

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-3 years of conferences or association event planning experience is required
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-disciplined, and self-learning
  • Strong communication skills and marketing experience
  • Business acumen and the ability to professionally interact with people inside and outside the company
  • Strong work ethic with a high desire to accomplish assigned objectives successfully
  • Initiative, collaborative, and proactive. Willing to work hard and take feedback
  • Discreet and professional demeanor
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment with well-honed time-management skills
