Quality Assurance Specialist

Whova is hiring a full-time, in-house Quality Assurance Specialist located in San Diego, CA.
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will contribute to the documentation, functionality, optimization, and overall quality assurance of all user-facing aspects of Whova’s applications. You’ll work with the Quality Assurance Automation team and the manual testing will be a big part of what you do — we’ll expect you to be the expert on what the user sees and the person who catches user-facing problems that our automated testing misses, no matter how obscure.

- Create, find, and implement processes for manual testing.
- Create and maintain testing acceptance criteria and scenarios for our applications.
- Collect testing needs from our project teams, and determine priorities that are consistent with business goals and objectives.
- Report and document issues for our development teams.
- Test and validate features and fixes from our development teams.
- Maintain and organize documentation for system behavior.
- Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, completeness, and to mitigate risks.
- A BA/BS in cognitive science, human-computer interaction, computer science, or other related fields.
- Experience in user experiences and application testing.
- Familiar with software testing methodologies.
- Experience with the software lifecycle.
- Experience with issue/bug/defect tracking tools.
- Experience in written requirements and use cases.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile development environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Salary: $45K-$50K per year, based on experiences in UI/UX, Quality Assurance, or related fields.
