Many attendees come to conferences not just to network, but to learn from both experts on stage and from each other. From insightful presentations to hallway conversations, the best events create space for new ideas, shared experiences, and peer-driven growth.
Whova has long supported this kind of learning environment through features like Personalized Agenda, the Community Board, Session Q&A, where attendees discuss session content, share tips, and ask thoughtful questions. Attendees also use session notes to capture key insights from speakers and panels in an organized way, with the ability to export them after the event.
Now, we’re expanding note-taking beyond sessions. With our latest enhancement, attendees can save meaningful posts from the Community Board directly into their personal notes, making it easy to capture valuable insights they come across in conversations.
Whether it’s a practical tip from another attendee, a resource link shared by a speaker, or a comment that sparks a new idea, attendees can now bookmark and keep those moments. Each saved post includes the original topic and the contributor’s name for easy reference and proper credit.
At the end of the event, Whova automatically sends attendees their complete, organized notes—including both session takeaways and saved community messages—directly to their inbox. It’s a seamless way to extend learning beyond the venue and give attendees lasting value from your event.
This update is part of our continued commitment to helping organizers deliver a more enriching and lasting experience for attendees. By enabling participants to easily capture and revisit valuable discussions—whether from sessions or peer interactions—organizers can boost engagement, reinforce learning, and enhance the overall value of their event. It’s a simple yet impactful way to increase attendee satisfaction and maximize the return on your event app investment.
Capture Key Insights: Save and Take Notes as You Learn
Attendees can easily save posts on the mobile app by double-tapping or holding the post. On the web app, they just need to hover over the post to save it.
Attendees can easily save valuable community posts directly into their personal notes with a tap or click.
For example, if a speaker shares a helpful resource link in the Community Board, an attendee can quickly save that post to revisit later, helping them absorb and apply what they’ve learned at the event. Similarly, if another attendee shares a valuable insight or tip from their own experience, others can save it as part of their learning takeaways.
In addition to saving useful Community Board messages, attendees can write their own notes during sessions – allowing them to capture different types of information throughout the event. They work similarly – attendees can navigate to any session in their agenda, scroll to the notes section, and jot down key insights. For instance, if a session introduces an impactful tool, the attendee can note it down for future reference.
Viewing Notes: Key Takeaways in One Place
All saved notes—whether from sessions or the Community Board—are accessible under “My Notes” in the profile tab.
‘My Notes’ section keeps all attendee takeaways in one place, including both session and Community Board insights.
Here, attendees can:
- View full saved notes
- Edit session notes or remove notes
- Jump to the original Community Board topic for more context
- Export all notes via email for easy reference after the event
This makes it simple for attendees to retain key learnings and apply them long after the event is over.
About Visibility and Attribution
To help attendees reference what they’ve saved, each note will automatically include the original Community Board topic and the name of the contributor who posted it. This ensures that saved messages remain connected to their original context and source—making it easy for attendees to revisit full conversations or follow up with the person who shared the insight.
Reference saved insights easily with topic and contributor info included.
Since Community Board posts are already visible to all attendees during the event, this feature doesn’t introduce new privacy considerations. Attendees can already take screenshots or manually copy content; the note-saving feature simply offers a more convenient and organized way to hold onto helpful posts they would have accessed anyway.
By making the process more structured and transparent, we’re giving attendees a better way to learn from each other—while respecting the open, collaborative spirit of the Community Board.
