Double Networking and Round Table Participation with New Gamification Options
Earlier this year, we released the Speed Networking and Round Tables features, online video “tables” that effectively connect attendees at events of all types. Since then, both features have been popular ways of bringing people together and motivating attendees to be active participants at events.
With our latest upgrade, you can increase participation even further and encourage attendees to spend more time in these sessions by rewarding attendee participation with raffles and Leaderboard points.
Encourage speed networking participation
Gamification is more than just fun, it’s also an effective way to fight Zoom burnout and motivate attendees to join online sessions and networking opportunities.
With Speed Networking gamification, choose an amount of time attendees need to spend in Speed Networking in order to qualify. Once they meet that goal, attendees will automatically be entered in a raffle, encouraging them to make use of the Speed Networking feature to meet others and effectively expand their networks in an exciting way.
Motivate attendees to stay and participate
Increase visits to round tables
Similarly, Round Table gamification has attendees visit a set number of tables in order to qualify for a raffle, much like our Passport Contest feature. This incentivizes attendees to make full use of the Round Tables, no matter what you’ve set them up as.
Attendees progress when they join different round tables, encouraging them to fully explore the session
Attendees will make new connections with other attendees and can join in on more meaningful discussions — and if you’re using the Round Tables to put on vendor sessions, increasing visits to these tables will give vendors higher visibility and ROI for the event.
Bring more people in with new Leaderboard challenges
In addition to the raffle, Speed Networking and the Round Tables also connect with another gamification option: the Leaderboard, which tracks attendees’ participation throughout the event, allowing them to earn points and watch themselves progress in rankings in real time.
Now, “Join a Round Table Session” and “Join a Speed Networking Session” are featured as Leaderboard challenges, so even attendees who may not be interested in the raffle gamification will be motivated to check out these features to progress on the Leaderboard. And after they join in once, they’ll be more likely to want to see the rest of what the features have to offer!
Joining Round Table and Speed Networking sessions will help attendees progress in Whova’s Leaderboard
Further sponsor visibility with branded prizes
Gamification is a great way to further visibility and even create tiered sponsor levels. Just offer a sponsorship tier where sponsors can provide the prizes for gamification, giving them the opportunity to be further promoted in your announcements. You can even feature them as session sponsors for the Round Tables and Speed Networking sessions. The sponsor can also put together a branded prize package for the winner!
Promote your event as attendees share their achievements
There’s nothing that inspires people to share on social media more than the chance to show off a little bit — and with Whova, you can make attendees sharing their accomplishments a promotion opportunity for your event!
When attendees place highly on the Leaderboard, qualify for the raffle, or win it, they’ll be immediately prompted to share a branded, pre-made graphic that they can easily share on social media. This not only spreads the word about your event to their followers but also reminds other attendees at your event about the Speed Networking and Round Table sessions.

Manage easily through Whova
Easily control gamification from beginning to end. All you need to set up is a simple click and a moment to specify the criteria to win; from there, Whova can help you motivate attendees to join by sending out an in-app message with prize information, as well as announcements reminding attendees to participate!
Whova will even feature a banner at the top of sessions reminding attendees how many tables they’ve visited and how many more they need to be eligible for the raffle. When you’re ready to choose the winners, organizers can select attendees manually or hold a raffle through Whova. Once they’re chosen, announce the winners in moments directly through the app.
See participation skyrocket
Interaction can make or break an event for attendees, but sometimes they need that extra push to take full advantage of the opportunities you have for them to participate. With Whova’s gamification options, interacting with other attendees and round tables is enjoyable even beyond the great connections they’re making.
